In NetSuite's 2021.2 release, a new role permission has been created, "Vicarious Emails". This permission allows users to send emails from email addresses that are not their own.
This new permission may be a "gotcha" for any customer that has a workflow or scripting solution that sends emails from an email address that may be different than the current user's. For instance, you may have a workflow that sends an email to a customer upon order fulfillment that includes a link to track shipping. If that email address is 'shipping@example.com', you may run into an error as this is a "vicarious email".
